Christmas Drive In

A first for Atticall... a drive in Christmas performance! And what a success!

As always our boys and girls wowed the audience, this time from the ‘big screen’... we are so very proud of each and every one of them and it was a joy to see their happy faces spreading some Christmas cheer at the end of a very challenging year... nothing can dampen their spirits!!

A huge thank you to all those who helped make tonight happen. We are so fortunate to have such a supportive community. Thank you to Atticall GAC for the use of the car park and to Brian and the senior footballers for assisting with the parking arrangements tonight! A huge thank you to Jamie Quinn, Mourne Film for all his hard work!Thank you to

Linda for braving the cold to do some outdoor singing with our choir.

Well done and thank you to the teachers, classroom assistants and our pupils for all the effort they put into their class performances! They were amazing!

Finally, thank you to all those who came out tonight in support of the event. It was a lovely, family evening and hopefully a memorable one for all!

Wishing you all a very happy and safe Christmas!

Drive In Movie Tuesday 15th December 2020 @6:30pm

As you may know, the boys and girls have been working hard over the past two weeks learning some ‘in class’ performances. These have been recorded and we are going to offer an opportunity to view all the performances via a ‘drive in cinema experience’. It is hoped this will compensate for the lack of outings at this time and be a fun alternative for all the family. The drive in cinema will take place in the lower carpark of Atticall GAC, adjacent the community centre and will run on Tuesday 15th December at 6.30pm. Gates will open at 6pm and stewards will be present to guide you to a space. In-keeping with the Covid guidelines, strict social distance will be maintained with families remaining in their cars. There will be an opportunity to purchase teas/coffee/donuts from ‘Kelugos Mini-donuts’ but we ask that 2m social distance is maintained at all times.

The cinema night will be operating as a fundraiser for the school with the cost per car being £20. Payment can be made via PayPal (family & Friends) to info@holycross.kilkeel.ni.sch.uk. Please state who the tickets are for when purchasing. Alternatively, the money can be sent into school. Grandparents and other family members are invited to attend in their own vehicles. The raffle for the hamper and name the dog will be shared on the night. A special word of thanks to Atticall GAC who have granted permission to use the carpark and enabled the event to take place.

We hope this will be a very enjoyable family night and something to look forward to in the build up to Christmas. In the event that weather conditions are unfavourable we will postpone to an alternative night- should this be the case everyone will be updated as soon as possible.

SHOE BOX APPEAL 2020

We wish to give families advance notice that we will be participating in the shoebox appeal this year again. We will distribute leaflets just ahead of the Halloween break and invite families to send in their donations mid-November.

We realise that families like to gather up the items gradually in preparation for filling their shoebox. For that reason there is a photo of the list of items attached to this post.

School Photographer will be in school 14 October 2020, please see flyer with prices from £7.....

Congratulations to our past pupils who received the Sacrament of Confirmation On Monday 21st September 2020 in St Colman’s Church, Massforth.

Well done to our fantastic girls on a brilliant display of camogie on Friday 7th February in Newry Bosco. Bee Safe Event

Primary 6 & 7 attended the Bee Safe event in the An Ríocht GAA  Thursday 30th January 2020. This event is tailored towards P6/7 pupils and informs them how to react and deal with situations that they may potentially face over the coming years.

Experts from Home Safety, NI Fire and Rescue Service, PSNI (Internet safety) and Translink talked to the pupils. Pupils also received a healthy snack along with some goodies for their pencil cases. Thanks to Newry, Mourne & Down District Council for organising the event.
