Environmental Fun in the Sun

Today we had fantastic fun. Liz Farnan came into our school and played some great games with us. In KS1 we did a bear hunt to find Broney the Bear, we sang songs, looked for paw prints, listened to stories and even played some bear games. In KS2 we did a bird hunt, learnt about the different bird calls and built our own dens using sticks and string.
We had great fun today and loved having Liz at our school.

Cycling Proficiency Scheme

This morning the P7 pupils completed the Cycling Proficiency Scheme.  They all sat (and passed) their theory test. Afterwards, they were awarded their certificates.

Since the Easter break, the children have taken part in practical and theory lessons to help them understand the rules of cycling and improve their ability on a bicycle. Although there has been a great improvement over the course of the scheme, the children fully understand that this has not made them experts or ensure that they will be exempt from danger. They must take great care every time they get on their bikes and always wear a helmet.

Congratulations to all of the children on their success. Cycling is a fun way to stay fit and healthy!

Northern Ireland does the Daily Mile 2021

Today the boys and girls took part in the nationwide Daily Mile as part of the Daily mile’s initiative to promote getting active and looking after your physical and mental wellbeing! It was lovely to have all the children across the school participate at the one time. The children prepared by discussing why the Daily Mile and being active is important to them and they designed their ‘back signs’ to wear as part of the event! It was a lovely, positive start to the day for everyone 😊 #northernirelanddoesthedailymile @_thedailymile

It is great to see the good weather arrive and seeing the children enjoying themselves outside

EASTER  EGGS

In recent times the Easter Bunny would have came personally to hand out all of the wonderful chocolate Easter Eggs that Friends of Holy Cross have kindly purchased, one for every pupil at school!  However due to Covid restrictions this wasn't able to happen.

We would like to thank our wonderful Friends  Committee for purchasing this years Easter Eggs for the children.  They were all delighted.

We had a very special bunnies from P4 & 5 that had their own Easter egg hunt.
